Please note that the School's versions of Office 2013 and above (except on the Mac OS) are already bundled with Skype for Business. Therefore, you will not need to install it separately if you have one of those versions. Columbia Business School's implementation of Microsoft® Skype For Business® is an enterprise-ready, unified communications platform, intended as a community-building tool. Lync is built to fully integrate with Microsoft Office and is tied to your GSB Exchange email account.
This tool can help you see your contacts’ availability; send an IM; start or join an audio, video, or web conference; or make a phone call—all through a consistent, familiar interface that will help ease communication with your classmates. Skype For Business on Mac Installation / How to Log In: To install Skype For Business, simply download the installation file from the link below. Once downloaded, close all open programs (especially Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, and Communicator/Lync/Skype) and run the downloaded file. After completing the installation wizard, it is recommended that you reboot your computer.

We have released a new build for Skype for Business for Mac client using Microsoft Auto Update. What’s new in this release? Group management is available for O365 and SfB Server 2016 users (this functionality is not available for Lync Server 2013 users). Microsoft Skype for Business with an Office 365 subscription is the latest version of Skype for Business. Previous versions include Skype for Business 2016, Lync 2013 and Lync 2010.
